He eats Mysis and Artemia shrimp and I will buy Plankton for him on Monday

Would you still recommend any treatment for him?

Brine shrimp isn’t really nutritious, but mysids are. I’m not sure what you mean by plankton, there are a few different types. Just be sure it is small enough for it to swallow.

It isn’t showing any treatable symptoms that I can see. If you post a clear video I might be able to see more…..

Tony told him to feed it plankton.

@HolyGrailTorch Lover are you referring to Phyto? For fish, Zooplankton would likely be better.

Today I went to my LFS and I got home with:

Cyclops
Mysis shrimp with garlic
„Red“ plankton (already fed that today and the goby ate it)
Roe

I'm just not familiar with foods from the EU. I'm not sure what species the "red plankton" is - probably a Calanus copepod. Mysis may need to be cut up with a razor blade to make it smaller. The fish roe is often not accepted by some fish in my experience. Cyclops might be too small?

Could be, I can see one spot in the photo, but can’t see it clearly enough.

The way to tell ich is to watch the spots. If they come and go day to day and change location, and if you see spots on the fins, and the number of spots increases, it is more likely ich.

Should I do a fresh water dip?

No - that won’t control any disease, the fish just get reinfected. Also, this fish is pretty thin and weak.

I only use FW dips in conjunction with a microscope as a diagnostic tool.

Just watch the fish for now. If it turns out to be ich, you’ll either need to treat with copper, chloroquine or hyposalinity. Trouble is, none of those treatments can be done in tanks with invertebrates in them.

I did actually manage to catch him and put him into the quarantine tank just now!

The quarantine tank is an 7g tank running with an airstone and a hang on back filter.
For the hardscape I use a dry rock with many wholes and an DIY cave out of rocks.
Is that fine for now?

Ah, I wouldn’t have moved it. It may not be ich, and if it is, any other fish in your main tank have already been exposed. My worry is the move might harm its appetite, and it needs all the food it can get right now.
Since this is a new tank, be sure to watch the ammonia level and don’t feed more than the fish is actually eating (avoid uneaten food settling in the tank).

I came home today after a small trip and the goby was surprisingly active and I fed him quite lots of different frozen food and he seems to be doing better

Looks much better.

Just keep the ammonia level below 0.5 ppm and remove any uneaten food particles.
