How do you protect your BB's?
I would have to carry one in a coverall pocket or jeans pocket ( with pocket knife, money clip ).

I'm trying to do people user reseach now.

Save yourself some grief and get an Iphone!

Someone mentioned that you can't type fast on a touch screen? I guarantee I can smoke anyone in a txt match with my Iphone. The older models where slow to register your touch, but with the 3gs there is absolutly no lag at all

the touch screen blackberry is horrible i had teh storm for about 2 months then traded it in.......

Did you pay extra money for trading it in? or did you just say this thing is junk and demanded a new one?

I just got a storm, buy 1 get 1 free and so far its just OKAY. was hoping for something in comparison to the IPhone. Guess ill have to wait and hope for the Iphone to come to verizon.

Also i tried downloading some applications but it says my device has no memory. How is that possible i justbought this thing 2 weeks ago?

Do i need to upgrade my Memory card? its at 8gb right now i believe

I payed to end the contract

also....theres no way u can smoke some one with a real keyboard i used to have the iphone, i send and recieve about 10000 txts a month and i can type MUCH faster with the BB

OK, my next question is, where do you carry your BlackBerry phones?

Front pants pocket, rear pants pocket, shirt pocket?

I really don't think texting is going to be a issue with me, so the speed of a actual keyboard vs. the speed of a virtural keyboard doesn't make a difference to me.

I keep my curve in a holster. To big for your pocket. FWIW I prefer to browse the web on my iPhone. If you have big fingers you might find the BB keyboard a little hard to get use to.

I carry a curve for work and prefer to carry mine in a holster. Unlike my iPhone which slips easily into my pocket. I actually prefer to browse the web on iPhone. I've got big paws and those tiny buttons slow me down.

I must say the Blackberry is a really nice phone, but that being said there's no comparison to the iPhone at all, I have an iphone and all the app and stuff u can do with it is just amazing, iPhone all the way.

i have had both, and i perfer the bb, honestly i can do anything u can do except mines not touch other then that they can do the same things

For me the iphone is not a option....

Easily smoke ya. You can type as fast as your fingers can move with an Iphone, not having to actually click/push a physical button is why.

For me the iphone is not a option....

Right!...its a necessity

the iphone does have more apops but anyone that has browsed the new blackberry apps store knows that there are 1000's of new apps and more added everyday. way more then anyone could ever use.

PS: i think the iphone is awsome and i am not a fanboy of any phone. I just know that it is not the end all to phone like many iphone users think it is. matetr a fact they are losing marcket share rather quickly becasue so many new phones can do all the same things and more in some cases.

dont get me wrong i LOVE my iphone BUT i like my blackberry better for some reason, i one nice thing about the iphone is u cant scratch it which is very nice

thats the storm and although it takes getting used to it is a good phone. BUT as far as touch screens go it is on the lower end of the scale. the storm get horrible reviews just about any place you look. most are based on poor user knowledge and not giving it a shot but tehre are also many other problems with it that are legit.

if your really want one go get the tour. you will 100% love it. i was on the fence but did it anyhow and i am REALLY happy i did. my wife and i both love them. the reviews from all the tech places and consumer reports are also through the roof. being called the best blackberry ever

I got the Storm about 4 months ago. I had the Pearl before that and a Nextel one before that. I will never be without one again. That being said I almost threw my Storm against the wall when I first got it but then realized most of the problems I was having were my own fault. The only thing I am unhappy about is if I don't do a hard reset about every 4 days the phone will get the timer icon telling me to wait and just get real sluggish. It's fine after a hard reset. I have been reading that it is an OS problem and should be fixed. The predictive text is the best thing ever! once you learn how to use that and the custom dictionary you can type faster than on a keyboard.

Well, I ended up getting the Storm.

I really like the fact that I can check my emails at work, without having to sneak into my bosses office and use his pc.

Now the biggest problem I have is trying to log-on here.
I can get here following the link in a email to a subscribed thread, but when I try logging on to R2R, and try and go to the forums tab and look for different threads, it seems to just hang with that dang timer icon. Then it just gives me a blank page.
It seems as if it is having trouble loading the changing sponsors pictures at the top of the page.
I have been trying to get to this thread for a week ( on the phone) without success.
Is there a way around this?
Log-on with the phone without all the graphics?

Good information here! I just can't stomach spending an extra $40 a month just to have a iphone. It's a great novelty, but I might have to go with a crackberry instead and this thread has some great tips ... thanks all!
