So about 4 months ago I bout 2 blasto frags, one with 2 heads and one with 3. They open up, eat when spot fed, and look colorful and healthy, but haven't grown at all. They are at the bottom of the tank which is lit with an AI prime. They get alittle shade from an sps colony but not too much, and I've heard they do better in lower light. Everything else on the tank does very well. Any tips on how to get them to grow?

Patience...they can be very slow growers. I've had one for about 4 yrs. The first 2 1/2 years nothing. Over the last year and a half or so it's put on 5 new heads.

Feed meaty high protein foods. From what I experienced, my acans and blastos grew well with frozen food like mysis/fish eggs/cyclopeeze compared to dry pellets. Feed every 3 days at minimum; this gives the previous fed foods time to digest.

I have a single head Blasto frag that's been in the tank for a year, maybe longer,,, It has grown 4 babies under the mother polyp,,, I can see them under the mother polyp in the evening as the lights start to dim and the larger polyp shrinks in size. These babies grow really slow and have stayed the same size for months,, I am hoping at some point they will have a growth spurt and grow to a size where they will at least pop out from under the mother :) I feed them Fauna Marin pretty often,,, so am hoping that helps :)
