Blastos Turning Neon/Translucent??

My blasto colony has turned mostly neon / translucent. When I first got these they were all deep red like the one on the bottom in the photo. Anyone know what's going on with these? Kind of cool actually, but not sure if it's a sign of them not doing well.

how high up in the rockwork do you have them? Generally they like low light and low flow. And what are your parameters? I see theres an sps of some type next to them, if that's doing well it may be that they'er getting to much light.

Here's a pic of mine.

They're towards the bottom with moderate flow and about 230 par. All other corals are doing good and I just gave the one SPS mounted low in the tank to see if I can get some nice long branches out of it.

Sallinity: 1.026
PO4: .03 ppm
NO3: 2 ppm

Bummer. So did they start out with solid color and turn translucent like that or did you get them that way?

Did you acclimate them to that? 230 par is sort of high for an LPS coral that generally likes anywhere from 80-150 par.

Hmm, sounds like that's probably it. I recently added another LED bar to my lighting to increase par but I slowly ramped it up over about 2 weeks. I took them from about 150 par to about 230 now in that time.

So do you think there's any chance they will recover or is this an indication of their pending demise? That one dead head in the middle was like that when I got it BTW.

I'd lower them into the sandbed, they should recover ;)

They were translucent when I got them. I lost mine due to tank issues.
