Blue Branching Wall Hammer

I saw a beautiful BLUE hammer (branching wall type) at the LFS a few days ago, and I'm going to pick it up tonight (as long as it's still there!)....

Does anyone else have a Blue hammer coral? Or any Blue euphyllia really? I can't remember the last time seeing one, and I've been in the reef hobby for about five years now.

Saw a pic of one in a thread on another forum. It was blue for sure, but didn't live long after import. GL with yours! Can't wait for pics!!

There's some blue wall that's been traded amongst local reefer here for several years. It's hard to find, but does exist.

BTW, hammers are either of the branching variety OR the wall variety.

The one I'm looking at has been in their system for at least a week, probably closer to two weeks.
Hopefully the one im looking at will live a lot longer than that!

Do you happen to know why it didn't survive?

Here's an old one that I used to have. It was very healthy for a very long time, in my tank. Eventually, I sold it.

Wall euphyllia often don't survive long for a few reasons, the most frequent being that they are wild "caught" specimens that simply aren't suited for our tanks.
This is not to say they can't survive, and even thrive, but IME a specimen from the wild is much more difficult to care for.
Add to that the fact that euphyllia can look fine for weeks and then succumb almost overnight to an injury or illness they acquired before they even got to our tanks.
