Blue tang diagnosis

Good evening, I have a Blue hippo and Foxface in QT since Monday.

Foxface is doing well, eating and swimming.
The Blue.. not quite the same.

Been swimming erratically and sitting on the sand bed. I was watching this evening and noticed the fins.
Not to mention, he hasn’t eaten since coming home.

Could anyone help me with a diagnosis and treatment?

Looks like the Foxface is enjoying eating the Blue tangs caudal fin? I would separate them, maybe put a divider in the tank and see if the Blue tang decides to eat and recover?

Not sure about fin being eaten but to further assess, these pics are extremely dark and will need pics under white light intensity minus blue. A video too would be helpful

It could be tankmate aggression, but it also could be fin erosion from flukes or even HLLE.

Clear video under white lights would help us diagnose this. A tank divider would isolate this fish in the interim.

It’s been over a week, has the tang started eating?

Do you see it to any scratching/flashing?

If it is aggression from the foxface, it looks like it isn’t any worse, have you seen any chasing/biting?

I’ve caught him nibble at some pellets, but stopped when he saw me

He isolates in the corner of the nursery tank. Been there for 8 days.

I have been thinking about moving him
Back into the qt tank with the foxface and watch their behavior.

I have to ask, is it possible for fish to be lame? Like he’s healthy, eats when no one is looking and just stays in one spot?

These fishes like to hide. I think it's scared, perhaps the noise and naked tank with no place to hide, it's stressed out wondering if you are going to eat it, or?

If you put some cover in the tank it will hide. That it is eating when you are not looking suggests that the fish doesn't trust you, or is waiting for the worst, or whatever is coming next.
