I was hoping someone could help determine if I have a blue throat trigger fish. I just bought a trigger from my lfs and they said it was a blue throat trigger fish. I have a reef tank and it looks like the blue throat trigger is one of the few, if not only, trigger fish I could have in this tank.

My concern is when I look up pictures of a blue throat trigger, they don’t look like what I purchased. I’m wondering if they mislabeled it and I have a different type? My other thought is maybe it’s a female? I’m not overly familiar with trigger fish so any help would be appreciated. It’s about 2” long currently.

Thanks for the replies. That‘s what I figured but I just wanted to make sure. If I wanted to get a male as well, could they both be in the same tank? Tank size is a 96x24x24.
