Blue tuxedo urchin

My urchin looks like he’s losing his spikes? Ive had him for almost a year now....this saddens me, he was one of my favorites): im sure why this happened, im going to test my water when i get off work as i am heading there about now. If anyone could throw any ideas I’d like to know please and thank you

I just lost my blue urchin of two+years. Pig pen.

I think he may have been out competed for by the rest of the cuc.

If you are low on algae then you can rubberband nori to a rock and the urchin should eat it, I do this with my two tuxedos. Its best to place the rock near the urchin, rather than place the urchin on the rock as they often wander off that way. Ideally place the rock in the direction the urchin is travelling or within range of its tube feet and it should find it and tuck in.

Don't panic too much yet, one of mine dropped a patch of spines a while back, never did figure out why but I kept it well fed and stayed on top of wq and they grew back fine. Good luck

He started looking like a white moldy substance assuming he died. Stupid on my part I didn’t know they needed a food supply like seaweed [emoji27]
