Ive trained a lot of animals over my long life of 53 but this I thought Id share it along the way.
17 years of reefing, Ive done it all except train Darwin clowns (spawning pair) to bond with the Black Widow who's just split.
I'll put all updates with success or fails so here we go.
The tank is like 8 years old and so are the clowns. The Blue Hippo runs the show.
In the last 2 months I lost 2 fish who were VERY old from a friends tank and thought it's a perfect time with limited fish. If that maters. Just the 3 now in a 90 Cube.
The Black Widow: In for 1 year and split...
Has anyone actually done the basket training with success? Failed?
Any another training besides the Mirror or tape a picture to the side (Ya, i know thats old but so am I and I did try it)
Suggestions on where/what is a good basket to use?
Size?
Has anyone gotten them to host in the basket and them not when put back home?

The Black Widow is not a natural host for Ocellaris as you likely know. It is hit or miss if they will ever be hosted. Some try to force the issue, but that seems stressful in my humble opinion.

I’ve read about it being done a long while ago.
I’m looking for input and appreciate yours.
I think what we do to our animals is stressful all together. I don’t think basketing them with an anemone is any worst then what we do now. They’re not adventures and don’t move much farther then a basket away now.
I’d like to basket my crazy Hippo. But that would be mean and I like him too lol.

Ive gotten 4 different black and white ocellaris to host bubble tips using pictures taped to the glass...takes a long time need multiple pics on the tank and keep the glass clean. Also having multiple nems helps.
I had a harder time getting a pair of clowns bonded ....hence why i had 4 trained so to speak.
