I finally upgraded return pumps but the new return pump only comes with the 1 inch unions for attaching plumbing to it. I have attached the new pump with fitting along with current plumbing setup. The current plumbing setup is glued but shortly after the first bend is an. 3/4th union. Can I just get an elbow that goes from 1inch to 3/4th and keep the 3/4cinch return plumbing that goes from sump to tank ? So my new return pump > I inch plumbing into union attached to return pump> 1 inch elbow bend to 3/4th inch elbow bend, back to 3/4ths plumbing because all that is glue already. So in theory I’ll only have 3-4 inches of 1 inch. Sorry I’m in making this confusing this plumbing is hard for me haha.

It should work fine with the proper reducing fitting.
