I'm thinking of adding an automatic feeder to keep my critters happy while I'm away at my cottage.

I have a rimmed 120G tank with a mesh screen top that sits inside the rim, so there's no easy way to attach the feeder to the rim without the top being dislodged and leaving a rather large gap. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the first person to encounter this issue, so before I try reinventing the wheel, I thought that I'd check to see if someone has come up with something that works.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Paul,

I haven't bought the feeder yet, but this is the one that I'm thinking of.

Thinking about it some more, I can probably make an acrylic stand for the feeder and place the whole rig on the centre brace. It would only be used for up to 5 days at a time when no one is home , so the top wouldn't have to be opened or disturbed.

Thats exactly what I was going to suggest. Those pellets will go through the mesh don't they?

Yes, they will. I really don't like feeding dry food, but trying to build a 4-5 day feeder for clams, LRS and worms is more than I want to deal with.

Thanks Paul,
Jerry

Yes, but it rests on my canopy also. I feel it would be wobbly without the extra surface.
