Way too many things are known as "brain corals" lol. Both kinds of trachys (one was formerly wellso), favia, favites, other Mussidae and Merulinidae, wilsoni, lobos, just a huge range of brain corals!

I have had mine for around 9 months. I am never sure I am feeding it the correct foods. Tell me what you all feed yours.

I broadcast feed all kinds of stuff. Nothing in particular. Sometimes I will lay some mysis on them with no flow for them to eat. They do like food though. I lost many to my copperband that went rogue. Very sad. Had some nice rainbow trachys. Would have been a fortune in today's market.

this one is called chunk

he lives in a fishbowl

this is f2 growth of an original chip from pet store bought about 2008 ish maybe 9

it has already covered the rock twice and been killed back by various insults from living in an eight inch sphere, merely picking it up cracks in some of it where fingers press but it comes back every time.

had it out for a deep cleaning.

I have one like that. My war coral has been with me from one of my first few years. Been a test coral many times and has been all the way to one polyp. This was it in May of 2020. Today it is fully covered and grown even more. Hardiest coral I have ever owned.

Hey agreed it’s just like that one. This one can withstand draining in air for 33 mins current record, I bet that one too is inherently just the same, they’re tide riders for sure. When cleaning I just set it in a paper plate on counter. Cold as jerky, doesn’t matter. Eats tomorrow.

I love the one on the left. Too bad they are hard to frag. :(
I would be afraid I’d kill it if I tried. I bought it as a rectangular frag, so someone definitely cut apart a mother colony. It kind of grew and “melted” onto that rock. I really like the colors too.

I really enjoy hearing everyone's stories. They are amazing. This is the photo from the online store I bought it from. It is just as nice in person. Even has more orange though. It is quite large. Does anyone know how big they get? Or the largest you have?
