Hello,

The for past few days my brain coral has mucus on the bottom area. We’re the flesh and it’s skeleton meets.

Any idea what it is? Infection? Maybe to deep into the sand bed cashing a reaction?

Let me know your thoughts thanks

Most likely an irritation response from the sand bed. As long as their is no tissue recession I wouldn't worry to much. You could bury a PVC coupler in the sand to perch the trachyphyllia above the sand.

I do see what looks like a vermetid snail on the left side of the coral right at the point where the base and flesh intersect; there is a body of thought that they can irritate coral and your brain may be reacting by exuding mucus.

Good idea on the pvc cuppler !

I do in deed have vermetid snails. I have been manually removing them with super glueing the tips . I really don’t like those in my tank, I guess there is nothing else I can do about the vermetid snails. I don’t see one around the brain tho. I’ll move that black crab shell. Now thinking it might be that.

Any tips on vermetid snail removal? I know that’s a different subject

Ya. So it’s skeleton showing. Maybe I need to dip in revive and move it to a better location?
