Brain losing it's tissue . Need help !

I been having this brain for 6 months . All the sudden is started losing it's tissue . I have it where there is not a lot of flow hitting it . My water pram are good . Ph 8.0 cal 500 alk 9.6 mag 1500 . Can anybody help ?

I had a brain do the same thing :( Dip it with revive or some other dip that heals and monitor it for infection. If the skeleton starts growing algae I would try and cut that part off. That is my 2 cents... Mine did not make it

yeah u can cut off the dying and dip the coral in a iodine base dip or revive I wish you luck !

I feed twice a week with coral frenzy and Misys . Everytime I do a dip it they always die on me
. Is a furan2 dip good ?

I wouldn't cut it. Trachyphyllia will heal over exposed skeletons. The issue is something is causing the receding. It is not liking something. If you water perimeters are in check, nitrates and phoshates? Dip it. Move it to a shady area for awhile. Feed it a few times a week. When it starts puffing up. It may be a sign it will recover.

I would not attempt to cut it. in my experience, feeding an LPS with this damage never worked with me, they never showed enough feeding response and when they try it eventually made them more "sick". Unless the good part of it is puffing up enough, avoid direct feeding.

a good Amino acid can and will help, check water parameters too. I would move it to a place where it does not touch anything, with slow gentle steady flow, less light and watch it for a few days. if it was doing better I would not dip it with anything and keep an eye on it for a while.

A general advice too, I would adjust the Calcium and Magnesium level closer to NSW too, its too high at 500 and 1500.

Know did it turn out. I have one starting to do that, and it looks like it has strings of mucous hanging out of it.... Never seen one do this before.

Do a 20 % wc . I'm lucky I saved it , it was losing the whole right side of it's tissue . I did the wc and I started adding fuel and I put it where it didn't get direct flow . It's doing good now it's actually gets puffy and it's getting it's tissue back .
