Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

I too was adopted!!
Met my biological mother about 6 years ago now.
Also have a similar story of "product of good times" LOL
I have a half brother and sister who are 18 & 20 years younger than I am.
I was just out in California visiting them last May.
More fun information I recently did a 23&me to learn more about health issues and such...I have 98% more neanderthal than all of those who've gone through 23&me.

It's not the linage that makes a person. It's the choices that one makes. You sir are leaving a legacy that you and your kids will be proud of.

Every aquarium hobbiest should know who Mario is, after all he is a plumber.

I do have some sort of unspoken bond with mountains, ocean etc....I'm connected to the earth it seems in ways I cannot explain.

This is very cool!

OK, I am hesitant to even mention this, so don't laugh. There is an island in the southeast end of Louisiana called Barataria. Some property there belonged to a man with the same last name as my mother's side of the family. They actually did trace the lineage from my mom's father to this individual that once owned property on that island. There were oil rights involved and the search resulted in small royalties through the years for them. Ok, not so weird yet. If nothing else, this is a good story.

This area was a well known place for the pirate Jean Lafitte and his pirates to hide out. Google it if you don't believe me. Rumors abound about hidden pirate's treasure there and all that piratey stuff. There was some evidence that Lafitte and this ancestor of my grandparents were one in the same. I have even Googled the name and come up with unproven accounts that this might actually be true, as a lot of people have been trying to make the connection for generations. Color me skeptical, at the least.

The account that I find believable is that they were not the same person, but that our family ancestor was one of Lafitte's Lieutenants and Lafitte used his name when he visited brothels. That sounds more like me. :) Anyway, I know that this can never be proven - I mean he was a pirate - he probably lied every chance he got. Interesting to know that there may be pirates in the family lineage, be it Lafitte or one of his circle. I just find it an interesting part of our family's story - believe it, or not. :)

Just saw you are from Wisconsin/Minnesota border. I am guessing you are on the WI side because you listed it first. Anywhere near LaCrosse and the old LaCrosse brewery? Or maybe Eau Claire?

Yes Wisconsin side but just barely. I live 10 min into Wisconsin but just 1 mile from the river that divides the two states.
I'm 1hr 45min from Eau Claire and 3hrs from La Crosse
The closest metro area is Minneapolis/St. Paul and that's still 60-70min away.

Just one more question; do you get sudden urges to drag your wife around by the hair?
I'd be lying if I said no, but then again if you asked her she'd says yes too...I'm divorced if that help explain things LOL

Sounds very nice and as though it's quite private.
