I've been pondering this.
The corals are reacting to a stress injury. So they need time to heal.
If the stressor is gone they will still need time.
So, even if they look bad it may not be a bad environment to put the fish back.
So the coral healthappeacne may not Be an indicator of suitability for the fish.

I'll ponder more.

Also some of the dead SPS we got as rubble for his pistol appears to be getting color. Maybe he has the magic touch. I hope they grow for him.
