I wouldn't run a tank without an oxydator now, I have a mini in the puddle and an A and D in the twins.
They run 9% peroxide with 2 catalysts each.
There is a lot of info on the users thread on here.
It helps oxygenate the water. :)

I can't help but speculate that's why ich is less common in European tanks. They frequently don't QT either.

I believe it makes fish healthier, there has been a lot of talk about this but I use them because they benefit the whole tank.
I don't qt and have never had a fish disease.

Does it curb some of the pesky algae, and if so would it also curb macro algae? I only ask cause people suggest peroxide dosing for hair algaes.

I wondered that too. @najer has plenty of that, and 3 units...

I know too high % apparently strips the water. Depends on bioload and feeding habits. I'm assuming much like drastic over skimming.

The oxidation that occurs is similar to ozone injection without any electricity. What is not to like? They are beneficial in fresh or saltwater. I used to sell cases of them to local stores when Aquarium Products was still a company. I am sure Aquarium Products "borrowed" them from Europe and made their own packaging here in the U.S.

No it does not effect macro, I have gha in the puddle and cube end of the twins.
Caulerpa prolifera in the display fuge. :)
