Are any traps worth the effort? I'm told to get rid of them if they show up. Don't want them to overtake the tank. 4 months in and they started showing up. Advice? Tips to get rid of welcomed
like all things in a contained too many are bad. Some are good. And yes the $10 one works great and will trap the big ones too.
I find most folks who dont like them just dont like bugs.
Agreed, my wife is any bug phobic, she is not at all happy about the bristle worm population in my biocube, I have been instructed to "get them out!" (she also feeds that tank and contributes to their population [emoji38])
So, yeah the traps work. You can just throw some pellets in the trap when the food it comes with runs out, I think I use the coral life one, green tube..
In general, I wasn't bothered since they served a purpose. I wasn't thrilled when they started taking over my jawfish's burrow whenever food went in the tank though. Poor thing.
Thanks for the replies. I'm with you all on this but I'm being told by some that they reproduce rapidly and harm some of the corals in the tank. They are brittle stars in there as well. Lol. All in all no problems from the hitchhikers
