Broken plate coral... how to fix?

So I ordered a plate coral online, got here this am and it is cracked in 4 pieces. The seller issued a credit, however I now have a broken plate coral. Can I glue the 4 pieces together?

It looks like a Diaseris fragilis. They naturally break as a form of asexual reproduction. Each piece will form a new plate.

Looks like one to keep and 3 others to sell or pass on the savings since they gave you credit

It does look like a fragile plate coral. Breaking along skeleton fissures is normal as they age. The stress of shipping may have just initiated it faster.

Well I glued the coral together using a bit of coral gel on the underside so it could reattach, and gave it away to a local reefer. The seller is sending me a new one next week so I hope this one makes it in one piece. I actually like the replacement one better, as it has a lot more green on it

the large piece with the mouth is probably the only piece that will survive...good luck

+1, it's a diaseris and that's simply what they do.

Yes you can. I glue everything together. See this montipora above the anthias? I glued it together last week because I always break something when I stick my hands in there.
