I apologize. I don’t have a picture. In my tank, my Fuzzy Yellow and Birds Nest develop a brown wispy almost hairy algae on new growth. I pick it off, siphon it off it and it comes back. Doesn’t bother the coral one bit. When the polyps open on the new growth it disappears completely. My blue leg hermit crabs will also readily consume the growth. Is this normal? Does anyone have any idea. I’ll try to get a good photo.

I'm not aware of algae growing on living tissue. I've only seen it grow on dead skeletons. Yes, a picture might benefit identification.

Yes I just recently noticed the same thing on a few yellow bird's nest frags. On mine I also see
the stuff on the frag disc itself (in addition to the new growth area). Did you ever find a way to identify / resolve this?
