I have some brown jelly like stuff on some of my chalices in my frag tank. I cut the brown jelly stuff off already and wants to know how i got the stuff and how do you get rid of it.

Brown jelly on chalice equals death!! It can happen if another coral touches it or if they are really stressed out. The only way i have found to save the chalice is to cut off the brown jelly part.

thanks for all the imput. i did cut off some of the dead parts. hopefully it will stop the brown jelly stuff. Do you think i need to do a water change.

I would dip it in a coral dip after cutting it back into good flesh. I tried just cutting it before and after cutting 3 or 4 times I had only 3 polyps left of an 30 polyp acan colony.

Revive seemed to work well for me when I had a couple chalices with the infection. One I ended up cutting back and dipping, the other I just blew off the brown jelly in a seperate container with a turkey baster, dipped in revive and it was ok after the dip.

Thank you very much for all the help. I just cut off the dead part affected by the brown jelly and then dipped in TMPCC and it been two days and everything looks good so far. Finger crossed and hopefully everything stay looking good.
