What is this brown stuff on my Goni

Is this brown algae hard stuck on my Goni?
How can I get rid of it ? It doesn’t just blow off

It could be algae, or brown jelly, or hydroids.... I can't see clearly enough to tell.

thanks for the clearer photos

that seems to absolutely be algae you can try to gently brush it off with something like a toothbrush

It is algae growing over the dead part of the coral. A lot of the pally's are also looking unhappy.

It's losing portions of it's flesh and algae/cyano treats the decaying tissue almost like plant potting soil. FULL of bioavailable nutrients and very easy to grow in.

Provide full parameters measured and I would dip the goni ASAP to potentially save the rest of the coral. Gonis are overall kinda tough!

What I’ve found effective is to apply hydrogen peroxide to the algae area. You need to be very precise with it so I use a small paint brush. Allow it to start bubbling then dip it in some tank water and then put it back into your tank. The cause for the flesh die off still needs to be found and it will continue unless resolved.

Is it maricultured or fairly new from the wild? Do you know it's lineage? Many wild corals are VERY finnicky and will die without any real known reasons why.

interesting everything seems fine except for the calc being low, any large swings that could've triggered its death?
