Lost a hammer polyp head about a month ago, and this polyp started closing up a couple days ago. Can’t tell if it’s brown jelly. Putting it in an iodine dip right now.

I will definitely do that after the iodine dip is done.I'm not sure on brown jelly but it does seem to be suffering from some sort of infection. Iodine has never worked for me, my go to is a 50/50 peroxide bath for 30 seconds to a minute
Unfortunately, a bunch of the flesh fell off half of it. In the interest in protecting the other tank corals, we decided to dispose of the hammer coral thanks for the help thoughI find these problems are due to coral stress. Something can be off and the corals become weaker and susceptible to these infections. If I were you I would make sure something isn't off track
Also i use 3% peroxide
