Almost a year ago I started this thread about running a 6’ SPS tank on a shoestring budget For my ATO I used a Tom aqualifter partly because BRS bosted that you could rebuilt that pump rather cheaply, they even still host this video on how to do it but they have been out of stock for at least 9 months and now list the rebuild kit as discontinued

So several months ago I purchased one of the BRS 50ml ATO pump but now it’s output is reduced and suprise suprise they are out of replacement tubeing.

I guess what? I’m supposed to just buy a new pump a few times a year?

Fool me once shame on you fool me twice, we won’t get fooled again.

I have has a lot of trouble with contacting BRS over account issue. I could post up the emails iv’e sent and one i recieved but that’s not what this is about. Right now my pump can barely keep up with evaporation and I need a solution.

It’s a BRS doser. They are the manufacture/importer and the only place to get them, best I can tell.

I’m going to have to go to a LFS and buy a new ATO pump.

Like I said, I’m running 15 gal a week in kalkwasser through it. I expect 4-6 months at that rate.

The tubeing seems glued on the connectors pretty well, I don’t know if you could DIY replace the tubeing on this pump. I don’t even know what size tubeing it is.

I think I’m going to switch back to the TOM aqualifter, it makes a herendious noise when your kalk tank runs dry which is a great indicator to fill it LOL

Anyways, I did go over the $1k goal. Been almost a year and I’m at $1,499.85 spent and it’s a pretty amazing looking tank.

I think you need to use the correct paristolic tubing or the flow rates will be off and it could cause premature wear on the capstan rollers and gears and motor.

I kinda would like to just buy the rebuild kits they advertise for either of the two pumps I bought from them.

You have to realize that I have been a happy BRS customer since back when all they had was reef chili and bags of white powder to sell.

The point is the brs pump calls for a proprietary part and they the only source for that part that I know of and don’t have any.

That and they are still advertising the aqualifter as rebuildable but show the rebuild kit as discontinued.

If I wanted to have this kind of trouble, I could have just bought a $12 DIY pump head on ebay and saved a bunch of money

Hi,

This thread has been moved to Vendor Feedback, as such outside comments have been removed. The only 3rd party posts that are allowed are a link to your own feedback thread with the same company.

The help offered is appreciated, but the purpose of Vendor feedback is to offer an opportunity between the 2 parties to work out a resolution.

Thank you for your understanding.

Pretty sure the other comments got deleted, per the staff post above. I do believe others should get to comment on vendor feedback threads, it helps to pull out the full story.
Yes comments were deleted to keep in line with feedback forum rules. Please read them if you are not familiar. We do encourage members to start their own feedback threads if they have feedback. The only exception to the no outside post is a new rule where members may comment with a link to their own feedback thread.

Yes. Guys, unless you are the buyer or seller, please do not comment in this thread except to post a link to your own feedback thread. These are our rules for negative feedback threads of all kinds.

I understand the rules.

Apperantly anything posted that could possibly upset one of your vendors is stripped of all posts and buried in the basement for no one to see.

I'm sorry you're frustrated by the rules. I'm happy to discuss them with you, man. The goal is that you and the seller can work without outside interference to come to a resolution. Also, the rules apply to everyone here. It wouldn't matter who the seller or buyer was, so your accusations don't play out.
It’s your place. You have your rules, I don’t agree with yoru rules.

Don’t mind me, I’ll show myself to the door.

Problem solved.
I hope that's not the answer you'll go with, but that's your decision ultimately.
