Just noticed a rather large blemish on clown fish. Right side under dorsal fin. She is the matriarch in a grow out tank only other resident is another submissive clown. Had them both for years. Only change I made recently was remove a huge hollywood stunner chalice.

She is happy, otherwise healthy and eating. Any idea?

Looks like a bruise from an injury or nick. Should it become red or open sore, treatment would be either seachem neoplex or maracyn 2 in quarantine. You could also use seachem Metroplex mixed with food at .5gm wweight

That issue is a mystery. It looks like a bruise, but like Uronema, we know looks can be deceiving. I've never seen it on any clownfish I've had, but we get a lot of cases cropping up here. I started a thread on it a few weeks ago, but nobody responded with any conclusive information:

A week later and the "bruise" is completely gone. I did late night recon and noticed the clown is now sleeping next to the heater (this tank has no sump) since I removed the massive chalice. I am thinking it was a burn from the heater?
