Have you treated with Flux, yet? I saw another thread that you started.

In 55 years of reefing, I have not used Flux. The instructions seems straightforward, as does this video

No. No one seems to wanna reply to my threads
Some people asked a question in response to your post... you didn't reply...
Looking at my bottle of reeflux... instructions say...
Remove carbon, 1 capsule per 10 gallons.... 3 weeks do water changes!
Any algae you want to keep will probably die in the process.

I’ve replied to everyone’s comment. I don’t have reef flux. I have flux rx it’s not capsules it’s a powder. And it says dose everyday for 5 days for fish fungus. Nothing about algae.

Here's some starter information, looks like there is debate on skimmer shutdown time though.

According to the BulkReefSupply webpage for Flux Rx you can follow these instructions:

How to Use

Note:
When dosing, large scoop (1cc) should be level and small scoop (0.15cc) rounded/generous. Turn off skimmer and discontinue using activated carbon and phosphate remover for 72 hours. Skimming may be resumed after 72 hours, but all other chemical filtration should be removed during treatment. Turn off UV sterilizers for the duration of treatment. Filter socks are recommended to aid in cleaning the aquarium. Do not use if you have macroalgae or a refugium. Allow 10 to 14 days for results.

  • Add 1 level large scoop of powder per 25 US gallons, or 1 rounded small scoop per 5 US gallons. Dose powder to a high flow area of the aquarium and allow to disperse throughout the display with the current.
  • Allow 10 to 14 days for results.
  • After treatment, we recommend a series of water changes to restore water quality and remove residual medication. Add fresh activated carbon to filtration.

I just had a MAJOR bryopsis problem in my 10g. It took over more than 50% of the rockwork and good portions of the sandbed. I used Reef Flux at the recommended dosage of 1 capsule per 10g (recommends doubling for "faster results", so I doubled it). It took almost exactly 3 weeks and my display doesn't have a single piece of bryopsis in sight. The capsules of reef flux each contain 200mg

Yea... looks like it's a combo product, used for both fungus and algae

The manufacturer did not intend their fungicide to be used as an algaecide. However, reefers experimented with it for bryopis eradication.

In 55 years of reefing, I have not used Flux.

This video seems straightforward.

That helps a lot more than the darn directions on the box.
