Bta has lost his pop.....

Just like LBA, I keep my nems under very high lighting. It has to do with water conditions.

Troy I havent seen you contraption for lighting.

You guys that keep your bta under really high par can you post pics. I want to see a rainbow or flame bta with a par over 500 for over 3 months.

Hmmm, IMO, Bubble Tipped Anemone can handle a very wide variety of lighting, from the lower performance PC lighting, to T5s, to MH, with no problems at all. I kept one under PC lighting, for 4 years and it was healthy and beautiful. Now, that same RBTA has been under 10X54 T5HO lighting, for about 2 years, very happily. Splits, from my RBTA, are being kept under 400MH, in other people's tanks, with no issues at all.

Lee, you mention that you're dosing "about 15" different things. What are you dosing? Are you testing for it? Why are you dosing it? In my opinion, if you aren't able to answer all of these, you shouldn't be dosing it. I'm not saying you shouldn't be dosing, but make sure you're able to test for everything you dose. Make sure you know WHY you're dosing everything you dose and why/how your tank benefits from it. For instance, Iodine... IMO, dosing Iodine is a waste of time....lol.

Now, onto the next issue...FLOW. What kind of flow is your nem getting?

One other thought. You mentioned that you turned off your LEDs, to take pics, and it puffed up. Did you also turn off any flow?

Well I dose cal, alk, mag.... Then every other day I
Dose 1ml of strotium, potassium... A drop a day of Lugols and weekly 1 or 2 ml of coral amino and vitamin c

Was dosing mb7 and vodka but took a break...
Flow is medium to low not really high since my flow comes from the bottom of the tank "closed loop" ummm what else..:tongue:

And sometimes "pristine" water conditions aren't what the corals want ;)

Im still guessing its the lighting,who ever said it wasnt?Thats alot of light for a BTA...

The anemone itself can handle the higher light,but its the color or the zoax that cant handel the higher light and will often morph its color to handle the lighting conditions!

I would "guess" it's too much light. I've had them under only T-5s and then changed to purely LEDs and it's never lost its "pop". As far as water chemistry I don't usually test(hate to admit it) but only test when I see corals or anemones acting strange.

I also know that if it stays hidden under the rock and doesn't receive light it will most likely bleach out a little bit.
