Hi. I bought a green bubble tip nem that is white not totally knowing about the whole bleached thing. He said over time it would color up, and it was the only bta he has had in a while. I would feed him a lot and he would close up and eat mysis and after look pretty good. But today he looks shriveled up and i can see his mouth is open... i know thats prob not good also he wont take mysis has much as he used to. any ideas what i should do?

Do a water changes. If you started out with a bleached specimen it can be an up hill battle. What is your lighting type?

If you are posting test kit, I'm going to guess this tank may be new?
Small feedings of mysis are best for bringing back a bleached nem, but you need an established tank w/ level params.

Almost 8 months old but just started with corals

Tank is old enough, what kind of lights and wattage?
What are your tank params?
It may be adjusting to new tank and lighting, bleached nems lack the zooxanthellae needed to process light sometimes screening off to acclimate helps.

I have had the bta for almost a month and he just started doing this today

Pics may help, and save us some time shooting in the dark, could be many things, hard to guess w/out seeing whats up.

Its actually lookin way better this morning before it mouth was the size of a quarter and it was really shriveled. Its behind the rocks on the glass. Really hard to take a pic .

I'd say for the new corals and your nem you need to get those nitrates under control. 40ppm is pretty high.
