i have a a haitan anemone in my tank that i have had for almost 4 months and its doing great no issues, it eats and is puffed up alot, i also have a BTA in the tank its a month old, the first 2 weeks it settled in at least it thought, but then it started moving around the tank alot more then normal, then about a week ago its tentcles started getting short, its mouth is not gaping or looking purtruded like a normal stressed anemone, it looks like its fine other then its tenticles not coming out and looking like there shrinking.

the tank also has 2 clown fish, 4 hermits, 1 goby i have a little over a year now, and 1 strawberry tiger conch, all of these guys seem to be in perfect health

also my lighting is a DIY light consisting of 56 3W leds im pretty sure its strong enough for the tank sense it grows algea like no ones buisness and the other nem seems to love it.

salt is 1.025
ammonia is about 0.5
nitrate is between 4 to 5ppm

Ammonia is a little elevated but likely not it. Nitrate acceptable and what is Phosphate level?
These are generally an anemone with little requirements- basic light and water flow. If too little light or flow, they eventually shrink. Salinity range 1.024-1.025 and feed chopped krill or mysis shrimp 2x a week.
Have you changed salts, flow or anything recently?

i didnt have a wave maker before and i recently added one, but it was starting to do this before i added it,

i currently cannot check my phosphate levels i am trying to get a checker for that they are a bit expsenive though.

but if it was a phosphate issue wouldnt my goby be suffering cause i know they die from it super fast, but if you really think its phosphate i can get a filter that does phosphte friday

also i feed them twice a week but the bta has not accept a single piece of food sense i got it, i am about to try a super tiny piece to see if it accepts it.

the ammonia might not be that high i actually didnt test it, as tank is 3 years old and i have not detected any in there in the last 8 months, but i can also run a check on that to just to be sure.

update: ammonie reads between 0.25 and 0.50

Phosphate will affect corals , not fish
If no kit, take a water sample to a store that does phosphate tests, preferably a hanna or salifert test

i have duncan and polyps btw and the polyps seem fine but the duncan i noticed today is slightly hiding

yes i have, my tank gets a water change every other week. i do a 15 to 20% change every two weeks and then add stuff that replaces the biofiltration that got removed with the water change, its for both the fresh and salt tanks.

i managed t o get it down to 0.35 but then then the bta took a turn fur the worse and started diieing so i had to remove it.

what is strange to me and i still dont undersand is why the other anemone and all the coral are perfectly fine its like it never happened.
