Bubble Algae. 3 years. Done all kinds of things. Give me all you have.

I’ve had 6 different small female emerald crabs in my 36 bow and eventually every crab decided he/she liked eating my acans, montipora, and lobos more than the bubble algae. (One crab in tank at a time).

I have had to pull about 6 out for that reason.

Thanks again to everyone for pitching in advice. It is a reassuring motivator to hear that so many people have been able to get rid of it.

Only thing that ever worked for me.. and its not really applicable to reef tanks.. my sps system got ick.. long story but i took out all mother colonies and sps.. gave them to local shop to hold ... ect.. trade later. pulled half the rock and let the tank go hypo. Hypo killed all the bad Algea. Along with the ICK on all the fish.. but. all inverts and sps would have to be pulled. but again.. killed all the bubble algea.. I have tried them all, tangs, foxface, scrape ect.. nothing.. by the way .. killed the turf algea too.

WOW.. classic video.. while I hate seeing that .. I do like the clips.. i use to keep those also... now.. no way... I once had a large black one that only came out at night.. had to take a nail on a wood rod and spear him to get him out.. not really a emerald...but... have had all those guys.. personally i do not trust any craps in my reef and stick with turbo snails..
