bubble algae tips anyone?

My tank has been set up for about 4 years now. I have never really had a problem with bubble algae until now. Im seeing it pop up in several different areas and I'm getting worried that its going to be bad soon. Is there anything else other then emerald crabs to get rid of this? I prefer to keep my systems free of crabs if possible.

Its a small amount (maybe 4 bubbles that i can see but dont want to risk popping it). also, Is there anything that really feeds this stuff?

don't count on emerald crabs doing the job, mine scrounge around and eat almost anything other than bubble algae

Remove the rock if at possible and chisel that area off... At least that's how I have done it on the past....;)

the only way to get rid of it that works when I had that problem is to manually remove them. as mentioned, best way is to remove the rock and remove them outside the tank. if it accidentally pops, just rinse it in some tank water before putting back in.

emeralds do work, at least for me. and it is algae so po4 and no3 accelerate the growth. i have also seen sailfin tangs eat it

i would rather have hair algea then bubble. my tank was almost covered from one end to the other. i feel its part due to my yellow tang. as he does eat it but not fast enough so when he open some of the bubbles up it over grow the tank. i did read about some sea hairs eating bubble so i added one, once again i feeel he does eat some but not fast enough so in turn he has helped fuel its growth. so i add some emerald crabs. now they dont eat it fast enough but i feal they dont spread it as i watch a couple walk up to bubbles and suck then dry and leave a empty shell which they ate sometimes. now the emerald crabs still seem 50-50 like that other option i list. i add one more thing a powered blue which eat some from time to time as well. now with all these things in my tank i have seems a large reduction and hope to rid my tank of it in time.
