There has been a bubble in my fungia plate since the "electrocution". My heating element opened up one night. ((Don't buy cheap crap)) I heard this noise from the tank, opened up the sump doors and there was an underwater electrical show. Blue sparks and grey bubbles were spewing from the open heater. I quickly unpluged it. I was lucky and only lost a small sps and the fungia started to lose some flesh. I babied it for a couple of weeks, feeding it everyday in a breader net. When it started to recover, this is what I saw. Now it puffs up everyday like it's fine. This all happened about 6 months ago. What do you think about that? It was also feeding time today.

same thing happened to a platy of mine. went away, came back, and if it pops, the bubbled tissue will die.

The bubble seems healthy in itself, it inflates and deflates just like the rest of the plate. Wierd...:confuse:
Ya know I don't have a test kit for either one of those. I do dose a couple of drops of iodine once a week. I know they say not to dose anything that you can't test for. Before I found this forum I listened mostly to my LFS and they said "Put a couple of drops in with every water change, no need to waste money on a test kit" Well opinons are like butt holes, everybody's got one and they all stink" lol I think I should get more test kits.

i have one in a customers tank that does that. its has not gone away and it does not hurt it, just a deformity

Some times in the morning before the lights come on my whole plate looks like that. When I come home and the lights are on it looks completely normal. I just figured it was normal like a feeding response or something.

I have a favia that did that for around a yr just and a couple weeks ago it finally deflated it back to norm but the flesh there looks really streached

Well I don't plan on doing anything with it mabye it will heal mabye not. Whatever the case it gives it character. :matrix:

I have a 3in orange plate that has 2 bubble things every once in awhile. Mine aren't so round tho, they are more of a tower shape. It always goes away and then looks suer healthy so I've never really worried about it really.
