Bubble Magnus Curve 5

Hello! I have a WB Marine 110 and I need to set up my Skimmer! But I have no idea how or what I am doing wrong. Can someone help me? Thanks!

Bubble Magnus curve 5 was my least favourite skimmer .
actually anything in sump has frustrated me to never want another .
I had the hardest time trying to get it to break in and work properly .

I have owned many custom and manufactured skimmers in the last 30+ years. Besides a couple huge ones I built, the BM skimmers have been my favorite, followed by AquaMaxx and Reef Octopus. In that order. RO would be number one if parts were readily available.

I currently run a Curve 9 Elite and it does incredibly well.

It seems that it is making to many Bubbles and filling the cup with water in a short period of time… is there something I am missing?

How long has it been setup? How new is your tank? What is the depth of the water in the skimmer compartment of the sump?

No it’s not on because it’s filling so much so often I can’t keep up. It’s filling up with clear water I should add

Is the water valve open all the way? With this being the first time you ae using the skimmer it is not abnormal for skimmers to overflow while they break in.

I have a Magnus C3, and I had to keep stacking Egg Crate under it till I got it to produce just the dark skim. Compared to my LifeReef Skimmer, I absolutely hate it. Cup still has to be cleaned every two to three days, or it will stink up the house. Also every three to four weeks have to pull the entire skimmer out. New dedicated pump, is already starting to whine. LifeReef Spoiled me.

Oh, the other thing, I did was shoved a piece, of Vinyl Tubing in the pump intake, to reduce it’s size.
