You typically want to see the foam peak below the collection cup for optimal reaults.

I saw what I thought was a good vid the other day about water levels in the skimmer. This guy had the bubbles breaking just inside the neck of the removable cup neck. This way the gunk didnt build up in the skimmer body. I have adopted it and it works great. My skimmer body id spotless. Cup the opposite
