I have salinty at 1.024 and i haven't dosed any medications. The only thing i did put into my tank was marine buffer powder, but i haven't put any of that in there for about 3 days. The skimmer is sitting about 7 inches underwater, it was in 11 inches but i put a plastic container under it. That didn't fix the problem so im lost.. Please help me so i can get this up and running.

Is it new??? They take a couple weeks to settle in and really start performing... Also anything could really make it overflow oil on your hands, some foods, epoxy from mounting frAgs, etc...

Yeah its new, just got it last week. So.. I just let it overflow until it decides to "break in" ?

Yeah open the valve all the way it should settle down soon after it gets a slime coat inside the body... Are you running any carbon on the system??? If not that will help if something in the water is causing it...

By valve do you mean the tiny air tube on the left of the picture?

I don't have any carbon running, but i do have a big bio wheel filter running. Hoping to get rid of that big thing as soon as i get this skimmer working.

turn the white pipe that drains the water "wedge pipe" it should allow more or less water in the skimmer body that's how you set the water level...

IF YOU HAD TO OPERATE EVERYTHING ELSE MANUALLY, WHICH AUTOMATED SYSTEM WOULD YOU KEEP?
