I made the video full screen and now see that. Something is preventing water from entering the skimmer but without seeing it I can't be of much help
I went back down and if i submerge mine just below the slots marked water flows through those slots and the pump becomes quiet. Mine will stay quiet just being in the water far enough to cover those two slots.

EDIT: Your slots are facing the glass. Make sure the skimmer isn't against the glass blocking those slots.

Ill be home in maybe 1.5h, ill send some clear photos then. The skimmer itself isn't against the glass but I could check the intake

I see what you mean, whenever I submerge the skimmer it does fill but its almost like its being drained immediately

Got a better video, I found if its almost fully submerged (where the cup meets the frame) then it works and doesn't make noise. It keeps sputtering and having quiet periods.

New video and better view, back chambers won't let it go any deeper so it has to stay at minimum level or above

Any news on the skimmer? Mine started buzzing after almost 2 years of me having it. Just one day i figured it needed some cleaning, and after reassembling it the noise began.

My issue with the buzzing and choking was a Crack in the unit. After I got a new one it worked fine. Your buzzing is probably from the water level or cleaning. I just vinegar soak my stuff every week

Thanks for the reply. I got it back to silent by messing with the rubber seal around the impeller. I guess the water was bypassing and causing it to vibrate somehow.
