I woke up this morning to my bubble tip having moved to directly under my powerhead (AI Nero). I have the anemone guard on the back but it clearly still took some damage.

I dislodged it and moved it to a different location and it’s slowly reattaching itself this morning but I am leaving through Monday at the end of the day today and am worried it will cause bigger issues while I’m gone.

So far everything else in the tank seems to be in good health still, but I’m not sure what to do since I am leaving for the weekend and I’m concerned this anemone will bomb my tank while I’m gone.

Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you.

what size tank? you cud leave it in a container with holes inside of the tank. a plastic strainer and magnet are cheap. i usually use a petco critter keeper or now temporary holding habitat with some extra holes drilled in it.
its a bta so it will most likely bounce back

thats very small. definitely put in some carbon if u have it. did this split off from another anemone/ do you have multiple? if so, and i know ppl wont like this, you cud toss it just to give you piece of mind over ur vacation. they split way too often

It is a frag style tank so it is a much larger footprint. I understand you are talking from more of a water volume perspective.

I have been checking the parameters and everything has been very stable and it’s an established system.

I have one other RFA that is doing very well but no other bubble tips.

its most likely not going to melt/die if conditions are stable. i would still use the box just to make sure it doesnt detach and go back into the wavemaker

Ok, thank you. I have a small container that I can punch some holes in to make work.

Also, the anemone hosts a pair of porcelain anemone crabs. Should I put the crabs in the container with them as well or let the anemone heal without any sort of disturbance?

The anemone has dropped several tentacles in the last hour so I think it’s best to flush it unfortunately

I don’t think I can take the gamble on the rest of the tank.

Thank you everyone for your help
