Very cool. I have one that I've had since February of 2013 also. When I got it it was about the size of a golf ball. It's about 10 inches across now and hosts my clown.
It's even starting to frag itself!:D

My sister is looking after my tank at the moment and she sent me this pic today.
My Glass Cardinal somehow got on top of my net and died before my sister found it. No idea how it got there as the tank is completely covered! Must have gotten through a hole.

So now down to four fish since I moved on my Leopard Wrasse. Remaining are my two clowns, Cleaner Wrasse and a Fairy Wrasse.

Some more positive news....
I placed my new sump in to my unfinished stand just to see how it looks. Still have plenty of room for things to fit in front and beside it.
I am really happy with how it looks :D

I also added a picture of the internal steel structure I am building inside the stand which should make it super strong. It supports the top of the stand and goes all the way down to the floor with some flat plate welded on the bottom. Still need to finish the right side of the stand and then paint the whole inside.

I have decided to build a DIY aquarium controller that @Ranjib created called reef-pi, which is starting to get quite a large following here on Reef2Reef!

I have started my own build thread in the DIY section so I will leave most of the updates out of my tank journal except for major steps.

Here is the pi with an optional board stacked on top.
Basic features are, ability to control power outlets, ATO, LED light control, temperature monitoring, dosing, alarms via email alert, camera and a lot more to come! Everything can be controlled remotely on your phone/PC over the internet.

I finished the steel structure inside of the cabinet over the weekend. Added an X brace on the back which is bolted to the internal structure which should make the whole thing super strong now!
Just need to add a little support under the board that the sump sits on then it's ready for a coat of paint on the inside.

This is underneath the cabinet where the draw slides in. The sump sits on top of the board you can see, so it has been stiffened up with a few lengths of wood.
That is pretty much the end of the cabinet work and if I get time it should have a coat of paint before Christmas!

Installed the fans in the cabinet today. There is one in the electrical side and one on the sump side. Fans are controlled with this nice little controller that accepts a temperature probe.

Here is a bit of a different update for you guys today. I am on holiday in Cairns, Queensland at the moment and got the chance to visit Cairns Marine today :D

Cairns Marine is the company that collects coral and fish from the Coral Sea and distributes to all the LFS's around Australia and the world.

Unfortunately they don't let people in to the Coral section anymore because of a couple of incidents with careless people but I will share all of the pics that I can of the fish. There has been a cyclone hanging around up here recently so the divers haven't been out collecting for a few weeks.

Anyways here are a few pics, if there is interest then I have a lot more I can share!

I'll be scuba diving and snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef tomorrow so hopefully the weather is good and I can share some awesome pics!

Hi buddy. Are you planning to visit Reef HQ at Townsville? Worth a visit. Still the largest coral reef exhibit in the world I believe?
Steve Menzies is the curator there. I sent an email a few days before arriving to ask if I could get a behind the scenes tour. Went right through the place, along with the Mayor of some place up north who was with a coral trout farmer I think it was??
