Yeah the fiberglass was more for my piece of mind in achieving full coverage in waterproofing than its ability to hold pressure

Question, are you concerned about the brick support column you have, inside of the tank? Are you sealing it?

I basically decided to fiberglass the whole tank, including the brick column, which turned out to be a pain inn the butt but well worth it looking back now.
Originally when i was considering a much smaller tank i was going to use the column as a side of the aquarium (which would have exerted a side pressure) so i ended up deciding to go bigger and just incorporate it into the design.
My plan is to have the front of the tank piled high with live rock and focus the bulk of the LED's there so i can concentrate the reef. The rest of the tank floor on the other side of the brick column will just be an open sand bed for rays, etc.

Tonight i started doing the scenery and lighting around the sump room. I still have a couple of steps to go but it should look like an octopus with tentacles going everywhere eventually haha.

Initially i considered concrete but its been done. I wanted to push the limits of construction and show a deep tank can successfully be made out of wood and moreso OSB and 2x4's. There are quite a few people who believe plywood is the only way to go. I enjoy proving naysayers wrong haha When its finished ill pop a bottle of champagne and have an open house for ya!
