Sumps are something new to me, i have studied alot of things on them and going to attempt to build my own out of 75 gallon tank for our 210 gallon tank. Is there a good kit out there to do this or does anyone know where i can find some good info on measurements for what the panels should be? I found one kit but it did not have socks in it and feeling that since this tank is going to be for sharks and stingrays i need al

Just did a quick search here and found this thread.

If sumps are new to you, I would keep it simple. The Exotic Marine Systems Kit is a solid choice. Not too complicated. It has a filter sock section, section for a refugium, skimmer section, and return pump section. You can certainly get some glass or acrylic sheets and build your own, but a kit will take the guess work out of it.

Like Lpsouth said above. Just grab a kit if u can swing it.

As far as deciding which one to go with, that's a long answer. Theres so many options. Might have to do some digging around and see what fits your build best.

I went and checked that guys build but it confused me that his return is in the middle of the system.. i thought the process was going all the way through the sump and then back to the display?

I know i want room to put rock in the sump so that I do not need all the live rock in the display as with the stingrays i want to be able to leave them as much swimming room as possible but still adding enough rock that the couple of sharks have places to go and enough to add a few corals to give it some color as i am going to paint the back of the tank black and also having black sand. The kit you all said is the one i have been looking at but like i said.. no place for socks that i see. can those be added to it?

The one you linked doesn't have socks because you selected the Triton sump. Try this link instead. It is the same Kit but with sock holders included.

Go with the kit. Like I said, theres so many ways to do it, if it's your first keep it simple and grab a kit.

I converted a 75 gallon tank into a sump for my 220 gallon system. I bought a broken window on craigslist for $10 and cut it myself. I also took out the center brace and reused it for the last baffle.

Later I added a skimmer shelf, made from glass.

I then added an algae scrubber running from the outflow of the skimmer and over the mechanical filter.

It's been working well for me for 2+ years.

Exotic Marine Systems is the way to go imo. I dont have their sump kit, but I do have one of their overflows and hands down its the best quality of others I looked at. You can always reach out to @TaylorPilot for any questions you have about setup or if you don't see exactly what you want on the website.

looks like something that would do a great job but being i have never used a sump... building one from scratch i think is over my head... maybe on the next one after i get the idea of what i am doing...lol
