My house is slated for completion third week in September.

Anyone else building? This is my second new-construction. I don't have any fish tanks right now as I live with my dad. A friend is watching my 4 remaining fish. That'll be a fun rebuild. Some of you know about the big power accident that wiped out 3 of my other tanks and most of my fish. But it led me to jump start this build, so there's a silver lining!

Here's today's progress:

And yes, there's space in the garage for 4 Fords! 3 car entry and a 4th space ;)

Anyone else building? I'd love to follow others' progress!

Wow beautiful house! Where's the pool?

Are all those pics the same house? One shows a 3 car garage and another shows a 2 car garage.

There's a fourth car bay inside the garage but only three space garage door. If you enter the garag and cut left there's a spot for a fourth, basically. Just takes some shuffling. Couldn't afford a true 4 car garage build, was a good 20% increase in starting price. The garage was already a main reason for the house upgrade, to my wife's dismay!

3 cars is not enough I do agree! I have a 3 car garage and wish it was twice as deep. It is a side-load so the shallow depth is enough for the car to go up against the wall and have maybe 3 feet of space behind it (or in front, take your pick). I have 2 cars, my fiance 1 and her son 1 but now he wants to get a car to tinker with plus my daughter will be driving in a couple of years. It just isn't enough room! Both my cars get garage spaces since she can't get in the garage without hitting the sides so she parks in the driveway.

Yup, I can see 4 not being enough when the kids grow. I guess I'll need to work even harder/smarter!

there is a pass through from kitchen on the left side of the picture.. behind that is our living room.. stretches the full length of the main area of the house. 13 X 26 6 months from contract to finish.. I am sooooo ready.

6 months is awhile where have you been living?

Ours was 5 I think. Maybe a bit less. Yours a custom home or a builder?

mix of both.. but we had some pretty serious rain at the beginning and slowed things down. also the fires in and around Gatlinburg affected our subcontractors for a bit.. 2500 residential buildings were destroyed.. building is ramping up pretty heavy. We have been in an apartment that we were already in.

You all would be claustrophobic in my small home! It was going to be temporary. But I got carried away with the yard. 12 garden beds later with brick pathways and all the sweat and even some blood and I am in love with it. Every year we would do a new project. Keeps us out of trouble.

Beautiful homes you all have there.

my house looks bigger than it is. spec was 1550 appraiser says 1630 but we have plenty of land for us..(empty nesters) just under 3/4 acre.

We are empty nesters also. With 4 small dogs and a ragdoll cat named Sara. Not sure on square footage. We added a living room a few years ago. And tore down the old garage and built a new one with storage and attached patio. Good thing we have a son and son in law. Otherwise it was all us. But still small. Less to clean. Which is good, since my new kids keep me busy trying not to trip over their furry little bodies!

Still think your home is beautiful!
