Building A Stand

Hey,

I am buying a 180 gal tank and want to build my own stand to keep my 36 gal in. (Images Below)

What do you think? I think I want to keep something interesting in the bottom one (seahorses maybe?)

Any considerations or advice would be appreciated.

Can you get to the back on the lower tank? It might work? But plumbing and sumps, skimmers and such is going to be though if you can't get at the back. Looks cool though...

Very innovative, and cool. I am guessing that you are doing a remote sump?

Probably. I might try to do two small ones. The tank has two holes on both corners!

Split the sump on either side of the bottom center tank.

You can. I might make a door on the back of the stand. The tank only goes back half the distance of the stand.

Building your own stand is a great idea. The lower tank I am not so sure about. It is low enough that you would really have to bend down to see it. I think I'd not do it. Could you incorporate it next to the tank?

I could certainly try that. My hope was that I could run both of them together. It's still just a thought for now. Maybe I could make it two staged. So I could put one at hip level and the other at eye level. I don't know. It's just an idea. That's why I posted this.

Any other stand ideas? I really like symmetry.

None really but the cost of building is almost as much as buying if you do it the right way I have 4 4x4 6 2x4 1 10x 1 1 peace of 1/8 inch plywood and 1 can of stain and one of sealent 2 boxes of screws
