so after a long wait I finally was given the go ahead to build my 100 gallon sump. This will be going on a 90 gallon main display. Yeah I know kind of backwards but this is my right now tank. My future tank will be around 270 gallons. I'm also playing with the ideal of using hot water heater to heat tank. So here is my main display and a basic layout of how I want the sump. Nothing over the top my motto is keep it simple. I'm wanting to clean up under and around my tank so the sump will be in the garage which is on the other side of main display

Will your skimmer fit in that space? Looks good otherwise just make sure to use glass baffles in a glass tank.

Yes I allowed room for my new skimmer although I will have to prop it up to be at desired height which I planned for. And most definitely the baffles will be glass

Sump looks great. I am going to be building my own in the next couple of weeks. Interesting to see you used two bubble traps. I was only planning on one set before the return. Anyhow way to go. It would take a pretty big display to outgrow that sump.

The sump is full right now with coral! It’s kinda backwards the sump is larger than my main display but I have a new 120 coming. The original thought of the middle chamber was place for a fuge but now it’s just going to be used as a grow out on my main display

I like it Andy . No fun just buying a high dollar sump. Is plug & play easy? Sure but Ya don't learn anything .

I like it as well but functionality is what came into play with the 12gal ato res. I have a beautiful 40gal breeder sump I made but it just doesn’t fulfill my long term goals. I have made sumps for multiple tanks and realize the fact that you can lower and raise a wall to get water level makes all the diff things that you learn first hard quality paysp

I don’t need to lower raise water level I did plenty of planning and thought into how I wanted it. Sorry but to me ur comment came acrossed as rude. But hey ur opinion is ur own I see nothing ugly about it as for 12 gallon ato on urs I have a 5 gallon ato directly hooked up to a 55 gallon reservoir. I’m in Georgia my home is in California and I can fill my 5 gallon reservoir from here.
