I want to buy some bulk virgin anion resin but I don’t want to buy it from BRS. They have to source it from somewhere, where do they get it from?

A cubic foot is a common bulk size I’d be interested in. Maybe something bigger is necessary?

I got mine off Amazon.
That’s a great idea and I just searched and found a few brands. What concerns me is the quality and likelihood of introducing contaminants. Which brand did you try? Did you run an ICP test with your tank water? Just curious if you can share which brand and how it worked. Thanks for the tip!

I used the TL Reefs Mixed Bed resin. It worked fine when I used it but I never ran an ICP.

For the record, I use regular tap water these days because I got tired of RODI. 😬

I get tired of dealing with RODI as well.

I have used TL Reefs resins before, they were just ok, the resins from BRS lasted much longer before the tds would start creeping up. I’m a bit anti-BRS these days because of their market share in the hobby so I’m on the hunt for an equivalent product for maybe less money.

There’s lots of different resins available from Amazon, and as has been mentioned im concerned with those which may not be entirely safe to use for aquarium purposes. But maybe that isn’t something I should worry about.

Im hoping Randy has some input.

I also want to add that some of the bulk anion resins I’ve got from Amazon were horrible in terms of capacity. It’s quite possible they were not virgin resins and had been regenerated from a previous commercial use.

The bulk anion resin from BRS is very good, but I just want to source something from somewhere else.

Thanks. Tap Water? Sounds exciting!
