Bulkhead Plumbing Question

These are both 1 1/2 inch bulkhead fittings. However, the outer diameter of the threads and number of threads are different.

Does anyone know the difference? Should one not be used in a reef tank?

Is the shorter one schedule 80 and the other not?

The right one looks sch 80 as said above, the one on the left looks like a barrel bulkhead which you wouldn't use on a reef.

Sch80 bulkheads aren't as standardized as the ABS ones. Check Savko for hole sizes on the right one, but Hayward is the better bulkhead imo. Hole sizes should be similar for the smaller sizes.

Spears uses a difference hole size even in the smaller sizes and can't be used with thicker walls.
