Butterfly fish fighting ?

Hello reefers !
I’ve two chaetodon auriga since more than a year, sold as a couple but I think it’s not possible to know if that’s right.
Very nice fish and beautiful, but it seems they’re fighting, but not violently, no blood or contact, and I’m not sure if that’s a breeding behavior or two males fighting. They’ve plenty of food and hiding places. Watch the video to see it !

To me it looks like they were fighting over some food resource on the rocks. As long as there’s no adverse affects from the fighting, I would try putting a small mirror up on the side of the tank to divert some of the aggression, but over time they may just sort it out naturally. I would keep a close eye on them though, and be ready to remove one if it escalates

Thank you, I’m watching them closely. No food in this place, but they fight a lot in this place, can’t see why !

Interesting! Maybe they just really like whatever rock/coral is there lol
