I am looking at buying a used Apex. I noticed the probes are dated Aug 2016. Can anyone tell me if I would likely be buying new probes? If so the cost becomes negligible between new and used.

The Apex probes definitely have a useful life. Certain probes like pH and Salinity need to be replaced every few years for best results. Depending on price, Probably better to buy new than 6 yr old probes.

Temp probes usually don’t go bad, I had one that’s about 15 years + from the very first version , ph probes go bad every year to two years definitely haven’t seen one last 6 years.

$400 for an 832, controller and 4 probes is what they’re asking. Seems like a reliable person as well.

Maybe I’ll bring a mason jar of tank water with me and my portable battery pack so I can hook it up and test it all.

Do you think they will go for $350?

I thought there was something that changed in the 832. You should be able to find a thread on it here at R2R.

I plan to plug it in and verify i can add it to fusion and that everything seems to work with the powerbar and controller. Thanks to all for the feedback
