Byropsis,what else can I do?

I've been fighting it for a while now. I've increased water changes to 30%weekly, increased skimming, I change the GFO every few weeks, reduced feedings. Every week I siphon the sand and sump. I noticed a slight difference, but then it started growing back. I pull out a few pounds of it every week. The fresh ro water tests 0 phosphate, but the salt water tests .25, even after the gfo. The tank is just over a year old. Should I be using more GFO?

I've read some other thread on here that a significant increase in magnesium kills it. I've heard of people increasing it up to the 1500 to 1600ppm have had success.

I tried tech m, I raised it to well over 1500, it's been at that level for awhile, but hasn't done anything

There are many threads out there with solutions. Use the search tab or Google. Look into peroxide treatment.

The best bet here is to reverse course

Stop treating the water for a non water borne invader, bry is a substrate-borne invader and we can treat accordingly

Start by lifting out bryopsis rocks from tank, apply tech m to the algae, outside the tank, so that you are really affecting the target. Scrape off all bryopsis from the rock and use tech m or peroxide on the cleaned off spots, that's how to win

I have heard that techM has changed their additive and no longer is effective at bryopsis
H2O2 is a great way to knock it down but without making changes to the po4 it may grow back.

Mine grows on my return pipe and my glass. So, no taking out. I did try to turn off flow and hit with h2o2, but not really made a dent. My UAS has helped a ton, but not for about 4 months to notice a difference. This stuff is the worst. I just remove when I see it.

Another great way to rid of it is with Sally Lightfoot crabs they are so neat also :)
I should dig up some before and after shots, you would be amazed!

I used both tech m, it didn't do much of anything, the peroxide seemed to help alittle, but the coral couldn't stand it. I've pulled rocks out, soaked in peroxide, looked great for about a week or so, then it all came back. I haven't heard about Sally lightfoot crabs, but ill do some research.
