Calcium Test

My calcium test kit says the water will turn from pink to blue as I add drops of the solution to the sample. My question is will the entire tube need to change color or just the top? It does not say to shake the tube, but it seems like the chemical stays toward the top though it does begin to change the top portion of the water from pink to blue.

I hope I am being clear.
