In my tank (biology, consumption, bacterial activity), AFR is processed very quickly – within just a few hours.

That meets my expectation for it. :)

The pH effect is known (0.04 pH units for 1.4 dKH metabolized instantly, if such a thing were possible) and is very small. It is chemically identical to bicarbonate dosing in the pH sense, and since it is spread out over an extended period, no reefer will detect it.

Is there a handy dandy calculator that does this? The TM one doesn’t account for consumption….

We are working on a reef2reef one, but for AFR, use this calculator, the entry for Randy’s recipe #1, and multiply the amount needed by 0.88. So if you need 100 mL of recipe #1, you need 88 mL of AFR.
